From December 2022 to January 2023 American artist Ruth Cohen is an artist-in-residence at Studio 88. Ruth is a self-taught mixed media artist who has been creating art since 1992. Her creativity is impacted by visiting other countries and cultures and includes travels to Europe and regular stays in Bangkok, Thailand.Read more
Catch our visiting artists during Chiang Mai Design Week 2022
Studio 88 is partnering with visiting artists Elisabeth Viguie Culshaw and Pornpimon (Mew) Mingmitmee to organise a side event with Walking Artisan during Chiang Mai Design Week 2022.
The project is a collaboration between Elisabeth, a textile artist based in Glasgow (Scotland), and Mew, a natural colour maker from Thailand. They will present the Nature Colour exhibition at Walking Artisan Souvenir Shop, 3–31 December 2022, as well as two workshops: a Floral Art Therapy workshop with Mew and a True Colour of the Cotinus sharing session and workshop with Elisabeth.Read more
Special call for visual artists: The AiR We Breathe
Studio 88 Artist Residency is calling for visual artists to apply for a special residency on the theme “The AiR We Breathe”, to be part of the Art for Air Festival 2023 in Chiangmai.
The four-week programme in our residency space in Doi Saket, 30 minutes from the centre of Chiangmai, explores the topic of air quality. The residency, with a select group of international and Thai artists, is facilitated by locally based arts manager and Studio 88 founder Sasiwimon Wongjarin (Aom).
The residency is open to national and international artists, arts collectives, and creative practitioners with diverse visual art forms and/or cross-disciplinary approaches.Read more

She is a prolific and provocative multidisciplinary visual artist and is also an entrepreneur and activist. Join Bangladesh artist Preema Nazia Andaleeb for an artist talk and performance from 6pm to 7pm on Tuesday 3 May, at Weave Artisan Society, Chiang Mai.
Preema Nazia Andaleeb is one of the most provocative and prominent contemporary artists in Bangladesh, with a career spanning 25 years. She is also the Founder of Bangladesh Creative Forum (BCF), the President of Women in Leadership (WIL), and Chair of Preema Arte Foundation. She is a strong creative influencer, live performing artist and activist. She is awarded prestigious international grants and residencies all over the world including representing the Bangladesh Pavilion at the 58th Venice Biennale in 2019.Read more
