Jonathan Armour, an Irish artist based in London, was drawn to the residency at Studio 88 because it explores aspects of identity, particularly gender, which is a core aspect of his practice. Coming to Thailand, where gender has a different cultural context, provides an opportunity to view these concepts from a new perspective.
