Robin Lesley Nimanong

Robin Lesley Nimanong is a Dutch–Thai dance artist based in Amsterdam whose work moves fluidly between dance, performance, and media. They join Studio 88 as an Artist-in-Residence in February 2026 as part of the Reviving Nature: Botanical Breath program, where they will continue developing their current research project, Children of Zeus, which explores the body and plants as interconnected living archives of breath, memory, and resilience. This residency is supported by Fonds Podiumkunsten through the Nieuwe Makers Regeling (Young Makers support).

Ivana Tkalčić

Ivana Tkalčić is a Croatian visual artist whose practice moves between art, science, ecology, and technology. Her work explores how humans relate to their environment, memory, and systems of knowledge. Through installations, research-based projects, performance, and video, she creates spaces for reflection on vulnerability, responsibility, and coexistence. She joins Studio 88 as an Artist-in-Residence as part of the Reviving Nature program in February 2026. The art residency has been supported by Ministry of Culture and Media, Republic of Croatia, EU.

Jordan Kendall Parks

Studio 88 Artist Residency is pleased to welcome Jordan Kendall Parks as an artist-in-residence. A visual artist, printmaker, and installation artist, Parks brings a deeply embodied, place-responsive practice shaped by years of working within coastal, rural, and public landscapes. Her work asks how environments move through us—how land, water, air, and human presence shape our bodies, rhythms, and sense of belonging. Her residency takes place in February 2026 as part of the Reviving Nature programme.

Art, Place, and Purpose: Reflections from PATA Destination Marketing Forum 2025

Studio 88 Artist Residency was honoured to take part in the PATA Destination Marketing Forum 2025 (PDMF 2025), held from 1–3 December at The Heritage Chiang Rai Hotel & Convention, Chiang Rai. The forum brought together over 320 delegates from 18 destinations worldwide, representing more than 200 public and private organisations, academic institutions, and creative practitioners, all engaged in shaping a more sustainable and inclusive future for tourism.

Lilly Kaiser

Lilly Kaiser is an artist and arts educator whose painting practice centres on narrative, place, and the observational study of desert flora. Through this meditative and grounding process, she invites intuition, play, and expressive experimentation. Based in Alice Springs, Australia, Lilly is excited to to explore flora and fauna of Chiang Mai where she joins Studio 88 as an Artist-in-Residence for the Reviving Nature program in January 2026. Lilly Kaiser’s residency is supported by Northern Territory Grants – NT Grants and Charles Darwin University.

Ghazi Sikander Mirza

Ghazi Sikander Mirza is a visual artist, designer, and theatre practitioner from Lahore, Pakistan, whose practice moves between drawing, painting, performance, and spatial storytelling. He joins Studio 88 as an Artist-in-Residence as part of the Reviving Nature program in February 2026.

Willie Xaiwouth

It is our pleasure to welcome Willie Xaiwouth as an Artist-in-Residence at Studio 88. Willie is a Laos multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores memory, identity, ecology, and cultural change through painting, installation, photography, and animation. Rooted in personal experience and local knowledge, Willie’s work reflects on the complex relationship between people, nature, and the shifting conditions of contemporary life. Willie is a member of Lost Jigsaw, an arts-initiatives based in Laos.

Call for Applications – Reviving Nature 2026

Studio 88 Artist Residency invites artists worldwide to apply for Reviving Nature 2026 in Chiang Mai, Thailand — program dedicated to exploring art, nature, well-being and creative exchange. Ranging from three to eight weeks, the residency takes place from January 4, 2026 to February 28, 2026, in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The deadline to apply for this extended call is November 29, 2025.

Studio 88 Artist Residency is proud to welcome Reyhaneh Afzalian as our first-ever Iranian artist-in-residence, joining us for the June 2025 program. A multidisciplinary visual artist based in Tehran, Reyhaneh brings a thoughtful and evolving practice that bridges drawing, painting, sculpture, and land art. During her time at Studio 88, Reyhaneh will explore the intersection of landscape and identity through sculptural forms and temporary interventions, deepening her investigation into material, nature, and cultural resonance.

Jack Hyslop

Jack Hyslop is a multimedia artist, writer, and musician from Los Angeles, California, whose work reimagines discarded materials into thought-provoking creations. Jack explores themes of everyday beauty, overconsumption, and humanity’s impact on the natural world through collage and reconstruction. His artistic practice celebrates sustainability, often incorporating reused or secondhand materials from online marketplaces, roadside donations, and community exchanges.
