Ben Robinson was born in Dillsboro, a rural town in southern Indiana (USA). He studied photography at Indiana University and received my BFA, along with a minor in Art History, in 2016. He currently lives and works in Bangkok, Thailand. He has had exhibitions in the United States and abroad. He previously joined Studio 88 as an artist-in-residence and has since returned for several exhibitions. In May 2026, he returns once again to present a new body of work, alongside leading a photography and darkroom workshop.

With over 25 years of experience in the themed entertainment industry, working on large-scale and highly interactive projects, his work explores a dynamic interplay of personal history, cultural identity, and storytelling—infused with both tenderness and tension. Guided by a philosophy of boldness and originality, he creates works that inspire and provoke, bringing a distinctive voice to his upcoming exhibition as part of Studio 88 Artist Residency’s Evolving Identities programme in May 2026.

Toffee’s artistic practice expands the boundaries of dance and theatre, offering a transformative perspective on embodiment, perception, and inclusion. He will give a talk, conduct a workshop, and lead an experimental lab titled “The Touch of Movement & Connection” during his time at Studio 88!
