It is our pleasure to welcome Willie Xaiwouth as an Artist-in-Residence at Studio 88. Willie is a Laos multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores memory, identity, ecology, and cultural change through painting, installation, photography, and animation. Rooted in personal experience and local knowledge, Willie’s work reflects on the complex relationship between people, nature, and the shifting conditions of contemporary life. Willie is a member of Lost Jigsaw, an arts-initiatives based in Laos.

Sorthong Banjongsawat is a semiotician and university lecturer whose work explores how meaning is produced, communicated, and interpreted across cultures. She is delighted to share her insight about Semiotics, the study of signs. It is a tool which helps us understand what others communicate.

Lin Myat

Lin Myat is a Yangon-based guitarist, songwriter, and music educator whose practice moves fluidly between pop, jazz, funk, and Brazilian music. With a Bachelor of Science from the University of West Yangon and a Diploma of Music from the Eulogia Centre of Music, Lin brings both academic grounding and lived musical experience to his work. Lin is invited as a Collaborative Artist at Studio 88.

It is our pleasure to welcome Michiko Yoshino, a Tokyo-based voice artist and educator whose practice centers on vocal improvisation, deep listening, and collaborative sound-making. Her work moves fluidly across performance, education, and sound installation, exploring the voice as a living,
expressive instrument beyond genre and form. Michiko will collaboratively conduct a circle singing workshop with our artist-in-residence.

Borjana Ventzislavova

Studio 88 Artist Residency is pleased to welcome filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist Borjana Ventzislavova, whose work moves between cultures, histories, and forms. Joining our residency in November–December 2025, she plans to explore connections between indigeneity, meditation, and everyday practices of awareness in Northern Thailand. During her residency, she will visit local communities, document lived experiences, and gather material for her new project The Ghost is Present. Borjana Ventzislavova’s residency is funded by Austrian Federal Ministry of Arts and Culture.

Renowned for his contribution to performance art, festival creation, and the preservation of performing arts history, Golf plays an integral role in shaping the region’s cultural landscape. Studio 88 has had the pleasure of collaborating with him on numerous occasions, and we are excited that he is now actively engaging with our artists-in-residence program.

Roman Ne

Roman Ne is a Zurich-based multimedia artist and digital consultant. With a background in new media, sound, and Web3 tools, his work spans visual design, immersive audio, and experimental mindfulness formats. After five years as a core team member of Acud Macht Neu in Berlin, he now develops conceptual and participatory projects such as Hardcore Yoga Nidra, exploring collective attention and contemporary states of rest. He is artist-in-residence at Studio 88 in November-December 2025.
