With over three decades behind the lens — from film and darkroom beginnings to mastering today’s digital craft — Anders brings a rich blend of experience, curiosity, and storytelling to his practice. During his time in Chiang Mai, he will revisit the region after four decades, exploring its people, landscapes, and evolving culture through a fresh photographic lens.

Wuko

Wuko is a Thai visual artist whose work weaves together oriental mythology, pop culture, and reflections on belief. After joining the Studio 88 × NY20+ Residency Exchange in Chengdu in July 2025, he will continue his creative journey at Studio 88 in Chiang Mai this October.

Emily Peters

Emily Peters is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans sculpture, clothing and jewelry artisanship, sound, and sustainable design. With over 15 years of expertise in metal-working, textile design, fabric manipulation, printing and dyeing, and more than 25 years in vocal music and sound exploration, Peters embodies a rare synthesis of material craft and sonic artistry. Her artistic languages of fiber, sound, and adornment converge into a practice rooted in sustainability, ecological consciousness, and sensory immersion.

Franklin Lau is a visual artist and percussionist with over three decades of experience in photography, spanning lifestyle, fashion, and fine art. His artistic journey also embraces music, moving from drumming and djembe to the meditative power of gongs and sound healing. Now based in Chiang Mai, he continues to explore the intersection of image, sound, and culture. Franklin has been a great support to Studio 88 and he enjoys collaborate with our local and international artists.

Dr Hyelim Kim

We are delighted to welcome Dr Hyelim Kim, a distinguished Korean composer and taegŭm (traditional Korean bamboo flute) soloist, to Studio 88. Her participation is generously supported by the Arts Council Korea (ARKO), which supports Korean artists and producers to participate in globally renowned residency programs. Dr Kim is a recipient of ARKO’s International Artist-in-Residency Programme and will undertake her residency at Studio 88 in July and August 2025. We deeply appreciate ARKO’s trust in supporting her creative journey with us.
