Testimonial: Oscar Sidoff Rydelius (Ratvader)

In March 2024, Swedish composer Oscar Sidoff Rydelius (Ratvader) was an artist-in-residence at Studio 88, exploring the idea of sound pollution.  Here is what he told us about his experience:

My two-week residency was filled with bicycle rides, spontaneous meetings, fantastic food, cooldowns in the pool next door, and a lot of creative nights/afternoons when the sun had set.

I still have a hard time wrapping my head around the amount of impressions and things I had time to do at Studio 88. I got to see and take part in a funeral, I met strangers who helped me with the traditional rituals at one of the close by temples, I exchanged ideas and knowledge with the other residencies, and I participated in an exhibition.  All the while I went on field recording adventures almost every day and made an 18-minute-long ”EP”.

Aom and the rest of the staff at Sak homestay and studio 88 are as committed to helping and connecting with the community as there are possibilities of creative endeavors in Doi Saket.
