The Studio 88 Post-Graduate Fellowship offers graduating students and recent alumni a chance to gain real, hands-on experience in arts management, exhibitions, and cultural programming. What is the Fellowship?

  • The Fellowship is a supervised educational placement at Studio 88 Artist Residency in Chiang Mai.
  • Studio 88 hosts international artists and produces exhibitions, events, open studios, and public programmes throughout the year.
  • As a Fellow, you learn by working alongside artists and arts professionals in a real operating environment.

Who should apply?
This Fellowship is suitable for:

  • Thai or international students and freshly graduates who have the right to live & work in Thailand
  • Final-year students or recent alumni (Art & Design, Art and Cultural Management, Communication, Multimedia, etc.)
  • Graduates curious about arts management or curatorial work
  • Those who want experience, not just theory
  • Applicants who have good command in Thai and comfortable using English as a second language
  • Independent, motivated learners

No prior arts management experience is required.

What will you do?
Throughout the Fellowship, you may:

  • Support resident artists (local & international)
  • Help coordinate schedules and logistics
  • Communicate with artists, visitors, and partners
  • Document activities through writing, photo, or video
  • Prepare exhibition materials and documentation
  • Assist with exhibitions and events

The work is varied and hands-on, reflecting real arts practice.

Duration & Working Structure
Period: May 2026 – February 2027
Format: Full-time or hybrid (by discussion)

Workload:
Evening or weekend events may occur
Total working days will not exceed ~20 days/month
Up to 40 hours/week
Focus is on learning and outcomes, not rigid schedules.

Support & Stipend
This Fellowship is not an employment contract.
Studio 88 provides:

  • Accommodation
  • Mentorship and supervision
  • Access to facilities
  • A modest daily living stipend (THB 200–300 per full working day)

Evidence of Learning
Fellows will create a simple digital portfolio, which may include:

  • Short event or project reports
  • Planning documents (checklists, schedules)
  • Monthly reflections
  • Photos or videos of exhibitions or events
  • A final reflective summary

This helps you show what you learned and did.
