SoulScapes is an immersive artist residency dedicated to healing, care, and creative transformation. The 2026 theme, “In the Making of Transition & Transformation” centers moments of change—periods of ending, becoming, and quiet rebirth—inviting participants to work within transitions as they unfold rather than after they are resolved. Transformation is approached as a layered, ongoing process shaped by memory, loss, healing, and care, with space for artistic practices that attend to thresholds between what has been lived and what is still emerging, fragility and resilience, exhaustion and renewal.
SoulScapes values process over outcome, slowness over urgency, and presence over production. It welcomes artistic inquiries that are exploratory, unfinished, and grounded in lived experience—honoring transition as a shared, collective making, and transformation as something that grows through care, connection, and time. Art, culture, and creativity are approached as pathways for transformation—supporting the healing of body, mind, and spirit through embodied, relational, and reflective practices.

Expectations
- Residents will engage in their individual or collaborative healing/artistic practice.
- Each participant is encouraged to share an element of their work (workshop, talk, or performance) within the community.
- Active participation in the communal aspects of the residency, fostering a supportive environment.
- Possibility to participate in an open studio showcasing artwork and creative work created during the residency
How to Apply
Interested applicants should submit:
- A CV or resume highlighting relevant experience.
- Artist Statement and a proposal (500 words max) outlining your practice, residency goals and plan.
- A portfolio or examples of previous work (images, video links, or descriptions).
- Indication of preferred residency duration and availability within the program dates.
- Submit an application and supporting document online.
Residency Fee
There is no application fee. Selected artists are expected to pay the residency fee upon acceptance of the offer, based on the residency fee and services listed on our website. Studio 88 is a self-funded residency and is unable to provide any free residency or sponsorship. To support artists, we have compiled a list of grant opportunities that you might explore. A letter of support for grant and visa applications can be provided upon request after residency’s confirmation.
Selection Process
Studio 88 will select the participating artists. Selected artists will be notified via email in end of May 2026.
