Suteera Fankaew, widely known as Aod, is a multidisciplinary artist and dedicated cultural practitioner based in Chiang Mai, Thailand. This May–June, he will bring his deep-rooted passion for Muay Thai into the Evolving Identities programme, offering training that blends physical practice with cultural storytelling.

A long-time collaborator of Studio 88, Aod has contributed to numerous artistic and cultural projects as a guest artist, team member, and trusted support figure behind the scenes. Aod’s journey into the arts began in childhood through a strong connection to traditional Lanna performing arts. From as early as Grade 4, he immersed himself in local cultural practices—studying traditional boxing and learning to play the Nae flute for ordination ceremonies. This early dedication continued through his school and university years, where he often represented his institutions in Lanna music and performance.

Alongside his creative development, Aod cultivated his skills in Thai boxing, which remains a vital part of his identity. He now teaches private Muay Thai classes, passing on both the physical techniques and the cultural values embedded in this ancient martial art.
After completing a degree in painting from Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (RMUTL), Aod began to forge a personal artistic path. His practice evolved into a unique mixed-media style that integrates visual art with the spirit and movements of Lanna martial traditions.

In addition to his work in the arts, Aod has also developed a love for coffee. Over the past decade, he has taught himself the craft of brewing and is now a well-known barista. At his studio café, Sook66 in the heart of Chiang Mai, he welcomes friends, fellow artists, and visitors to experience a space where creativity and community come together over art and a good cup of coffee.
