Studio 88 Artist Residency was honoured to host Adam Geczy, an artist, writer, and educator. During his time at the residency, he immersed himself in the local culture, capturing raw video footage and creating a series of black-and-white faux-film stills. The residency provided an ideal setting for reflection and creative development, inspiring ideas for a new performance project. Geczy, an accomplished artist and writer, found Studio 88 to be a space for deep artistic engagement, free from distractions. His experience highlights the residency’s commitment to fostering meaningful creative exploration.
Reflecting on his experience at Studio 88, Geczy shared:
“I have been on over 15 residencies throughout the world and this counts as among the best. Aom the host is receptive and generous. The locale is optimal if you really want to get things done without distractions. The accommodation is wonderful. I would suggest having food nearby but also what is offered by the residency which is generous and delicious. I have nothing but kind and joyous memories from my time at Studio 88.”
