Paolo Chiarloni, an Italian artist based in Turin, Italy, brings a dynamic blend of cultural influences to his work, drawing inspiration from his travels across Southeast Asia. Deeply fascinated by the art traditions of both ancient and modern times, he merges Italian and Thai artistic methods and motifs to create innovative, cross-cultural pieces.
Primarily working with canvas, wood, and paper, Paolo often incorporates site-specific practices, adapting his art installations to the spaces where they are exhibited. His creative process involves meticulous planning, from transporting his works internationally in compact forms to on-site assembly.
Paolo’s residency at Studio 88 will further his exploration of Southeast Asian art and culture, allowing him to refine his fusion concepts and create vibrant, globally inspired works.
