Andrei Venal and Sasiwimon Wongjarin chosen as Curators for the 2025 MCH Curated Conference

Mekong Cultural Hub (MCH) is an independent, non-profit, non-government organisation, empowering diverse cultural practitioners to bring to life their visions for an inclusive, sustainable Asia. MCH has announced the selection of two esteemed Directors, Andrei Venal and Sasiwimon Wongjarin, as Curators for the prestigious 2025 Curated Conference.

Sasiwimon Wongjarin (Aom), Director Studio 88 Artist Residency, will be curating the topic “Economic Empowerment through Creative Work,” while Andrei Venal, Strategy and Innovations Director of DAKILA from the Philippines, will curate “The Citizens of In-Betweens.” Both curators will guide creative discussions under the Meeting Point’s overarching theme of “Building Bridges,” with the aim of fostering conversations around art, culture, and social impact in the Mekong region.

Invitation to Artists and Cultural Practitioners

MCH has opened a call for applications for cultural practitioners across Asia to participate in this landmark Curated Conference, which is part of the Meeting Point on Art & Social Action in Asia. Application deadline November 17th, 2024.

This program will run from February to July 2025, culminating in public sharing sessions during the in-person gathering in Vientiane, Laos, from October 16th-18th, 2025.

Artists or cultural practitioners passionate about contributing to dialogues on the role of art in society are encouraged to apply and become part of this dynamic and enriching experience. This is a unique opportunity to engage with fellow practitioners, share knowledge, and collaborate across borders.

  • Support: Participants will receive a $300 USD stipend, and all expenses will be covered for the in-person event in Laos.

Looking Forward to the 2025 Sharing Sessions

We are excited to see the outcomes of this program, with online presentations happening in October 2025, followed by the physical meet-up in Vientiane. Participants will collaborate on evolving ideas through monthly discussions starting in February 2025, building bridges across artistic and cultural landscapes.
