Amer Rashid is a multidisciplinary artist, architect, and educator whose work spans visual arts, design, and immersive technologies such as virtual and augmented reality. Based in Montréal, Amer draws upon his diverse life experiences, global travels, and cultural heritage to explore humanity’s relationship with nature, culture, and the challenges of modernity.

Amer’s artistic practice blends traditional and contemporary mediums, from murals and mixed media to immersive digital installations. His works delve into themes of identity, mythology, and ecological crisis, aiming to illuminate pathways to hope through beauty. Notable projects include site-specific installations in Norway and South Africa, as well as a VR recreation of the Great Temple of Ramesses II in Egypt.
At Studio 88, Amer plans to create an immersive installation inspired by the cultural heritage and mythologies of Northern Thailand. He will engage with local communities and craftspeople, combining recorded oral histories, ancestral craftsmanship, and the sublime natural landscapes of Doi Saket. The final work will blend traditional art forms with digital collages, light, sound, and projections to explore humanity’s interconnectedness with the earth and each other.
