We are excited to announce that Sasiwimon Wongjarin, Director of Studio 88 Artist Residency, has been selected as a creative resident for the Upper Floor project, organised by the Creative Economy Agency (CEA) and the Thailand Creative Design Center (TCDC) Chiang Mai.
Upper Floor#2 aims to rejuvenate vacant spaces in Chiang Mai’s creative economy district, stimulating investment and development. The project utilises building areas for creative works, fostering networks and collaborations among local and international creators. Its goal is to build an ecosystem that supports economic growth, business development, and community enrichment.

Studio 88 has proposed the Dream Catcher Soul Searching project, which builds on the creative co-op concept. This initiative provides a collaborative environment where artists and creators can share space and bring their imaginative visions to life. Studio 88 will manage the space, work with guest curators, and liaise with artists and creators to organise activities which includes but not limited to exhibitions, pop-up stores, talks, workshops, and skill-sharing sessions.

Meet the Four Creators in Residence:
Base Performing Arts: A collective focusing on social issues and engaging young audiences through thought-provoking performances.
Long Goy: A streetwear brand transforming Lanna culture into a fashion runway by blending traditional elements with modern streetwear aesthetics.
Studio 88 Artist Residency: A space for artists to reflect, experiment, and engage with nature, culture, and community, challenging conventional thinking and inspiring new perspectives.
Thee: Creatively reinterprets Tai Lue textiles into rebelliously minimal fashion, merging traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design.
Join us for the Soft Launch of the Upper Floor Project and meet the four creative residents on 1 August 2024, from 4-7 PM at The Goodcery Space.
Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with the creative minds shaping Chiang Mai’s cultural landscape. We look forward to seeing you there!
