Studio 88 is pleased to introduce Eunmi Mimi Kim who is joining us at Reviving Nature: Pollution Alert Artist Residency in February 2024. Learn more about her work here!
Eunmi is a South Korean-born, UK-based interdisciplinary artist who explores the nexus between art and technology. She is interested in the sensory perception and its corresponding communication, how we perceive the world around us through the senses based on therapeutic / meditative / neuro-scientific / cognitive-psychological research.
As a person with hyperthyroidism (a stress/hormone-related disease), she is a solitary being who can easily be pushed into a sensory overload. As a result, her research-based interdisciplinary practice aims to bring the mind and body back into balance, disconnecting from the world we live in and connecting it to one’s calm inner-self through artworks. It is not merely to encounter her vulnerability but rather to highlight wide-ranging mental health issues that many people face in today’s fast-paced, overstimulating world.

During the residency she will investigate the relation between noise data and its impact on humans’ levels of stress and wellbeing.
